IT'S NOT THE CAR, IT'S ME I

Can't count how many chimed in, regarding my recent inability to get a five anything RT, that it was me and not the car. There is some truth to that of course. I'm not all that sharp on the lights. But not all that bad either.

I always have winning expectations when I come to Irwindale however. I'm sure we all do. The week before for instance I figured - three laps to hone in on respectable RTs should be plenty and I'll be golden for competition. Not even one light in the fives that night. Not a one.

But lessons from failure have great value.

So yesterday I continued with my honing - building on last weeks lessons. My driving was sloppy all night - but I could tell that my 0.617 was me, and my 0.487 was me, and that I was making progress with my efforts to tune the car to be competitive again. I have no choice but to tune the car because the driver is un-tunable.

With help from Eileen Pandeles I took the crown.  I recognize good Karma when I see it so I asked Eileen to pick my pill for KOH round two. She pulled me the bye pill!  Thanks Eileen!

I took the opportunity to do a little more honing. Seminal moment it was since I went 0.465 red and ran 2 huns under my dial.

To much honing - needed to do some un-honing.

Eileen also prophesied me and Peter in the final.

It was me and Peter in the final. I totally misjudged Peter's closing rate. I crossed the stripe doing a stoppy a half car behind Peter. He beat me to the stripe but broke out doing so.
