WORLD'S SLOWEST GRANDFATHER IS SLOWER THAN EVER

Thursday all my lights were in the sixes.

Sunday before all my lights were in the 520s to 540s - maybe a 550 but I don't remember one. I don't have the data here with me.

No major changes to the car. Here's what I did change:

1.) I replaced the stock vacuum secondary spring with the short yellow one I was running weeks ago.
2.) I've always been unhappy with the light but uneven front brake drag. I had the shocks off to measure travel and stuff so I took the opportunity to remove the calipers and file 0.015 to widen the caliper horns for a looser fit. That worked very well. Not sloppy but free now. They release completely.
3.) Changed the jets. Primary - +1; secondary +3.
4.) Added 1/4 turn pre load to the top right bar for a little more weight on the right rear tire.

I don't see anything here to cause the problem.

Traction was good. Except for a nasty burn out event the 60 ft time and ETs were 0.040 quicker than Sundays. Top speed was normal.

Everybody at the track says it's me. I'll put "me" on the list but not likely for these reasons.
1.) I've developed tree sense over this year of racing. I know when I've pushed the tree and when I'm late. I did not have any sense of being late.
2.) Five 6.50s in a row. Possible but not probable. I haven't done that ever.
3.) Practice tree before I went to the track was 5.00s to 5.50s. The practice tree is nicely tuned to my car's performance. Did I have a stroke driving to the track? Not likely.

Here is my list of candidates in order of suspicion:
1.) Line lock - these buggers are haunted in my opinion. They're plotting against me. I'll disconnect it Sunday and see what happens with a foot brake launch.
2.) Solid state relay that controls the line lock. I'll bring an oscilloscope home and check it out.
3.) Transmission. The transmission performed good according to the numbers. Maybe the sprag? Would low fluid do this? I have no leaks. Maybe my dip stick is dip shit. It was filled by the dealer. I checked it a few weeks ago.
4.) Me - its my list so I can put "Me" last if I want to - so there - phluuughhh

Attached is the graph for Thursday's first run. Same ol' stuff. I over did the jets a bit.

Today I'm trying to diagnose the item listed above.

For about the fifth time someone said to me - " I can't believe those tires are not hooking up!". My answer used to be "blah blah blah blah" about all the technicalities of the four link suspension. My new answer is "The suspension is not working - yet".

I'm lightning the front springs to make the front more responsive and rise quicker. Moroso "Trick Front Springs" are on order.
